Steven Davis
Non-executive Director
Steven has over 35 years’ experience in retail, FMCG and financial services, in the UK and abroad. Over the past 20 years he has held senior executive roles in HR, retail operations and change management. Prior to building a portfolio career, Steven’s final executive role was with Sainsbury’s Bank, where he also sat on the Sainsbury’s Group HR Executive.
Steven is a Non-Executive Director of Peter Vardy, Scottish Ballet, Philip Kingsley and Skipton Group, where he also chairs the Remuneration Committee. He brings a wealth of experience in strategy, change leadership and building strong colleague and customer propositions. He is particularly passionate about creating environments where organisations can realise their full potential through their people.
Steven is from Scotland and enjoys making the best of all that Scotland has to offer both indoors and outdoors. He is as excited to be roaming the Scottish countryside as he is the National Galleries, or indeed, indulging in good local restaurants.
Craig McDermid
Non-Executive Director
A Chartered Accountant, Craig is an experienced corporate investor with a career in private equity, M&A advisory, banking and family offices. Following a successful exit with Murray Capital in 2015, Craig was keen to build a portfolio of non-executive roles. Passionate about family business and growth orientated companies, he is fortunate and privileged to now work with several such businesses across a range of sectors.
His experience brings Livingston James a unique and extremely valuable perspective on the process of identifying and attracting leadership talent for private equity and family office investors, as well as access to an extensive network of contacts.
Outside of the professional world, Craig has a passion for sailing, is a keen golfer and has developed a love of road cycling during an ongoing midlife crisis!
Craig is also a trustee of Cancer Support Scotland and the Murray Foundation.

Consultant Spotlight – Kirsty Sim
Kirsty Sim is Livingston James Group’s Head of Research. Kirsty, who has a background in psychology, has spent over nine years working in recruitment and executive search and joined Livingston James in 2016.
