Livingston James is delighted to be kicking off the New Year by supporting the Care Inspectorate with two senior technology appointments: Head of Data & Information and Head of Digital Delivery & Change.

The Care Inspectorate is the independent scrutiny, assurance, and improvement support body for social care and social work in Scotland. It provides public assurance about the quality of social care, social work, and early learning services, promotes innovation, and drives continuous improvement.

Inspecting services through an intelligence-led, risk-based approach to scrutiny and quality improvement support, the Care Inspectorate works to ensure care meets the highest standards. It supports improvement where care is lacking and takes decisive action when outcomes are poor. Backed by an expert workforce, the organisation delivers guidance and ideas for sustainable improvements that lead to high-quality care, investigates complaints about registered care services, and enforces change where necessary.

The Head of Data and Information role and the Head of Digital Delivery and Change role have been created as part of a strategic redesign of the Digital & Data Directorate, reflecting the Care Inspectorate’s commitment to transformation and innovation.

Head of Digital Delivery and Change:

The Head of Digital Delivery and Change will be responsible for leading the shaping, planning and delivery of digital transformation across the Care Inspectorate, ensuring that the organisation’s digital capabilities continue to develop and adapt in line with its strategic objectives and commitment to continuous improvement. This role ensures that change management and transformation delivery are not only innovative but also firmly rooted in sound practices. By blending agile and traditional delivery methods, the organisation aims to foster collaboration, meet stakeholder expectations, and build a foundation for sustainable growth.

Head of Data and Information:

The Head of Data and Information will play a pivotal role in enabling the Care Inspectorate to leverage its vast data resources effectively. This role will focus on ensuring that data and information management support intelligence-led decision-making and drive improvements across the organisation. By establishing robust data governance, analytical capabilities, and insights, the Head of Data and Information will ensure that data is a strategic asset, underpinning the organisation’s ability to anticipate and meet future demands.

This is an exciting time to join the Care Inspectorate as it embarks on a significant transformation journey, ensuring its operations and systems are equipped to meet evolving challenges. Together, these roles represent a unique opportunity for leaders passionate about digital innovation, data-driven excellence, and creating a culture of continuous improvement. By aligning technology, data, and operational strategies, the Care Inspectorate is positioning itself as a forward-thinking organisation committed to delivering impactful and sustainable change.
