Livingston James Retained by Sulmara to Appoint New CFO

Sulmara is an international, private equity-backed business operating in a growth-oriented and evolving market. The organisation has established a strong platform and is now entering a phase focused on scaling operations, enhancing financial and operational infrastructure, and positioning the business for further value creation.

With an international footprint and multi-entity structure, the business requires a finance function that can support both operational delivery and strategic ambition. The leadership team is aligned around continued growth, with a likely requirement to access additional funding and ultimately deliver a successful exit within the medium term.

Sulmara is looking for a new CFO to act as a close business partner to the CEO and COO, assuming full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and aligned to the needs of a growing, internationally active business. The incumbent will be expected to embed financial insight into operational decision-making, improving performance visibility, and supporting the delivery of sustainable growth.

The CFO will also play a key role in managing external financial relationships, particularly with banking partners, and supporting future funding activity. In addition, the role will contribute significantly to preparing the business for a future exit, ensuring appropriate financial controls, reporting, and governance are in place.

The successful candidate will be an experienced finance leader with a track record of operating at CFO level within a growth-oriented or private equity-backed environment within international, multi-entity structures They will bring demonstrable experience of leading a finance function in an international, multi-entity business and will be comfortable operating across both strategic and operational domains.

The role requires an individual who can balance financial discipline with commercial awareness, and who is capable of contributing meaningfully to both the day-to-day operation and the long-term strategic direction of the business.
