Sense Scotland is a Scottish charity and specialist social care provider supporting people with communication support needs associated with complex and sensory disabilities, as well as their families. It puts individual needs and choices first in everything it does.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, it is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible society where the people it supports can live meaningful, independent lives and achieve their ambitions.

Sense Scotland is now seeking a Director of Finance to play a critical role in navigating the current financial challenges, providing meaningful financial insight to inform decision-making, and supporting its growth ambitions through robust financial appraisals and business cases for future investment.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively to develop strategies and operational plans that drive Sense Scotland’s key priorities. You will also represent the organisation externally, engaging in discussions and negotiations with a range of senior stakeholders, including local authority commissioners, the Scottish Government, and other social care providers.

It is looking for a Qualified Accountant currently operating at, or ready to step into, a Director-level role. You will have a proven track record of strategic financial management, ideally within the social care, voluntary, or public sectors. Highly analytical and commercially astute, you will be skilled at translating financial data into meaningful insights, enabling well-informed decision-making. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.

If you are excited by the opportunity to join a values-driven, action-focused organisation that makes a real difference in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you. Please review the full role profile below or contact Douglas Adam via [email protected].

Sense Scotland is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
