Livingston James Partners with Bairds Malt to Appoint a New Brewing Sales Manager

*Please note this opportunity is now closed to further applications. Should you be interested in similar roles and wish to have an exploratory discussion, please contact Kirsty Mclardy at [email protected].

From its beginnings as a family business who were committed to bringing quality malt to Glasgow’s brewers, Bairds Malt now operates five Malthouses across the UK, having grown and developed into a trusted partner to many of the world’s leading brewers and distillers.

With 200 years of malting heritage, Bairds is celebrating the next chapter of its malting story, having added capacity at two of its Scottish maltings to help meet the demand from customers principally in the distilling industry. Bairds seeks to continually ensure that its barley supply is coming from farms that the business knows by name, and that the growers who supply the barley are supported throughout the crop cycle by the direct relationships with its merchanting business – Scotgrain.

Bairds is the largest UK maltster operating five plants, three in Scotland and two in England. Following a transaction in late 2023, the business is now part of Soufflet Malt, the worlds largest maltster operating 41 plants in 20 countries with a global malting capacity of 3.7 million tonnes.

Bairds is now looking to appoint a new Brewing Sales Manager to develop customer relations, sell malt and actively manage ongoing customer relationships communicating effectively both externally and internally. They will create and execute a sales strategy for Soufflet Bairds Malt in England; managing relationships with craft distributors in the UK and overseas. The post-holder will head up the local connection with the major key account customers in England. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual looking to work for a global business with a local feel.

We are looking for a candidate with proven sales experience within the brewing or related industry. Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate extensive knowledge of the industry and customer base. A professional brewing qualification would be preferable but not essential. We require an individual adept in building and maintaining strong relationships, offering solutions to customers as and when required.

If of interest, please see the below profile and reach out to Kirsty Mclardy at [email protected].

All third party applications to Bairds will be redirected to Livingston James.

Soufflet Bairds Malt are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
