This year, Livingston James and Rutherford Cross have elected to take on the choppy conditions of the Firth of Forth as our Corporate Challenge. Given the year of sporting competition with a Football World Cup and a home Commonwealth Games we have decided to find our own event in pursuit for glory. We are entering a 17-strong team, into the St Columba’s Hospice Dragon Boat race taking place on the 5th of September under the bridges on the Firth of Forth. The event is sponsored by our longstanding clients Forth Ports, and aims to raise funds for a charity that is very close to our hearts at LJG, having supported friends, family members and colleagues across our business over the years. 🚣♀️
St Columba’s Hospice is an organisation that provides world-leading hospice care for everyone in Edinburgh and the Lothians, for free. As you can imagine they don’t run on wishes and favours and fundamentally need the generosity of others. As a charity closely supported by both colleagues and clients, we hope to help support the incredible care and service they provide their patients and families.
It may not come as a surprise that we are limited in Dragon Boat racing experience so it’s all hands to the helm as we ramp up our training in our pursuit of bragging rights and silverware. Any donations would be hugely appreciated and help motivate the team as we get stuck into Olympic level preparation! Not only is there a prize for the overall winners but for the best dressed so please do submit any ideas with your generous donations.
