Livingston James Research Consultant, Neave Cadenhead, explores whether cultural fit has become one of the most misunderstood concepts in hiring, and why organisations should focus on assessing values and potential rather than relying on instinct and familiarity.
Leadership Transition Workshop | Commonwealth Games Board & Senior Leadership Team
Following the successful delivery of the Commonwealth Games, Livingston James was invited to facilitate a bespoke career transition session for the Senior Leadership Team as the organisation moved into its closure phase.
The session focused on the executive market landscape, emerging leadership opportunities, and the realities of transitioning from a high-profile, purpose-led project into the next chapter of an individual’s career. We provided insight into current hiring trends across the private, public and third sectors, discussed how executive search firms engage with senior talent, and shared practical guidance on positioning experience from the Games for future Board, C-Suite and advisory opportunities.
Alongside market intelligence, we offered individual career advice, helping participants identify how their skills, leadership experiences and achievements could translate into a range of future opportunities. The session created a forum for reflection, peer discussion and practical planning, ensuring leaders were equipped to confidently navigate their next move following the close of a landmark national event.
