Livingston James was thrilled to support the latest Glasgow Brain Game event which raised a whopping £257,000+ for Marie Curie! Amazingly, these funds took the event fundraising total over the £2m milestone!
The Glasgow Brain Game was launched 18 years ago and is now celebrated as one of Marie Curie’s flagship fundraising nights. The black-tie dinner and quiz was designed to raise funds for Marie Curie while teams battle it out for the title of Glasgow’s brainiest business! Around 600 guests gathered at the Glasgow Hilton to take part in this year’s event on Thursday 2nd October. The evening helps ensure Marie Curie can continue delivering expert care and compassion to people living with terminal illness and their loved ones.
Mark Lewis, Group COO of Livingston James Group and Chair of the Glasgow Brain Game committee, shared his reflections on the evening:
“It has been an honour and a privilege to be on the Committee of the Marie Curie Glasgow Brain Game for the last 5 years, culminating in taking on the role of Chair for 2025. This year’s quiz broke all previous records, raking in over £257,000 and boosting overall donations from the event to Marie Curie UK above £2 million, nearly half of which has been raised since the pandemic. Running the event is the ultimate team game, combining the efforts and generosity of all our sponsors, partners, table hosts, volunteers, committee, celebrity hosts, suppliers and prize donors, all of whom I can’t thank enough. I’d like to thank the amazing team at Marie Curie UK, especially Catherine Maclean and Libby Gormley, without whom the event simply would not achieve these levels of success.”
We are thrilled that in his first year as Chair of the Glasgow Brain Game Committee, Mark Lewis, led the team past the £2 million fundraising total for Marie Curie since the event began. The team hopes that the 2026 Glasgow Brain Game will be bigger and better than ever, and to achieve that, the committee is looking for new members to keep the momentum going and help create the biggest impact yet.
